PRINCESS MARGARET, COUNTESS OF SNOWDON, 1930-2002

Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon, was the younger daughter of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth (the Queen Mother), and sister of Queen Elizabeth II. She was granted arms in 1944, consisting of the royal arms of the United Kingdom differenced by a white label of three points, the outer points with Tudor roses and the middle point charged with a thistle.

As a woman, Princess Margaret places the arms on a lozenge and did not use helm or crest.

Princess Margaret was made a Dame Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order in 1953. Her lozenge was surrounded by the circlet of the order, with the badge hanging below.
