WILLIAM, PRINCE OF WALES, b.1982

Prince William, Prince of Wales, is the elder son and heir of King Charles III and his first wife Diana, Princess of Wales. He was granted arms in 2000, consisting of the royal arms of the United Kingdom differenced by a white label of three points, the center point charged with a red escallop. The escallop is a reference to the arms of his mother's family, the Spencers, which contain three white escallops.

Before 8th September 2022 the duke used the coronet of a grandchild of the sovereign, on which two of the four crosses paté are replaced by strawberry leaves.

With the accession of King Charles III, it is to be expected that Prince William's arms will change to those of the heir apparent, using the heir's coronet and a plain white label.

Prince William has been able to encircle his shield with the insignia of the Order of the Garter since he was admittted to the order in 2008.
