The arms of Sir Harry Secombe were granted on 25 October 1983 and make punning reference to both his name and his career. The mermaid's comb and wavy bars (representing the sea) allude to his name ("sea - comb"), and the motto, "Go On", reads "Goon" if you ignore the space between the words.

Secombe was made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 1963, and a knight bachelor in 1981. The arms shown here include a knight's helmet and Knight Bachelor's badge, and the circlet and badge of the Order of the British Empire. The version of his arms shown on the College of Arms website (about half way down the page) does not include a helm or the knight's badge.
