Thomas Edward Thomas of Glanmor (1782–1868) was Mayor of Swansea in 1851-52 and 1859-60, having also been Portreeve in 1817-18 and 1832-33 prior to the Muncipal Corporations Acts under which the office of portreeve was replaced with mayor. He was also an alderman, J.P., Deputy Lieutenant of Glamorganshire and High Sheriff of the county in 1862-27.
In 1811 Thomas married Mary Ann Wilkins Morgan in St.James's Church, Swansea. She died in 1822 leaving a son, Iltid (1812–1889), who married Mary Dulcibella, daughter of Thomas Eden, of the Bryn. Their son, Iltid Edward Thomas, was still living at Glanmor in the early years of the twentieth century.
